Pool party at The Holder's

My sisters in-laws invited us all over to their house for a Memorial day bbq. It was a lot of fun. Greyson got to swim with daddy, uncle Mike and his cousins and with Maddy and Brody's cousins Jack and Hayley. The kids were in the pool forever. There was yummy food, margaritas for the non-pregos and O'Doulls for me. Thank you to the Holder's for the fun pool party... can't wait for many more this summer.

Sunday Funday and grilling together

We headed to our favorite beach on Sunday early before the crazy crowds showed up. We got down there around 10:30 am and stayed til about 1:30pm. We had a blast... and all got a bit too much color. The first exposure to this summer sun didn't settle well, even with sunscreen on. I had a moment while we were all walking down the stairs to the beach thinking "wow, this is much easier this year..." We seemed to have way less stuff... just with Grey becoming such a big boy now he told me the two toys he wanted to bring, we had no diaper bag cause he is Mr. Potty trained now, we just had our toys, a bag of food and an umbrella... then I had that moment... "wow, I better enjoy it cause in about 4 months thats all changing =)" So I did enjoy it. I had such a sense of pride knowing my little boy wasn't needing a diaper... its so funny how it is affecting me so. I thought it was going to be no big deal. This is just a natural step in his development, instead it is HUGE to me. He's not a baby anymore. He was Mr. Independant at the beach. Geoff and I actually got to sit next to each other for a good while and just watch him. Then it was lunch time and we all sat together with our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chatted. It was so fun...

Yes... school has taught him the art of the "tongue sticking out" not my favorite

Not sure what was going on with these two, but it looks like Greyson was being very serious

and there it is...... THE BELLY

Hi Daddy... nice chatting with you

Playing so nicely by himself

sand castle
waving to all the passengers on the train... he did this every time a train went by... I had to zoom my camera in cause he'd try to get as close as possible...which wasn't that close to us
After a couple hours at the beach, we headed home and Grey took a little nap. Then we had a yummy artichoke appetizer together... yes, my child loves artichokes. Then Greyson helped daddy with the grilling. Well, not really, but he did know how to pick up his glass with the tongs.

Such a fun Sunday... can't wait for many more!!!

Beautiful afternoons... summer days

The weather is getting so nice that we are able to spend more of our afternoons outside. We are lucky enough to have a grassy area in the front of our condo. So the other day Geoff and Grey were playing frisbee, cars etc. and I brought dinner down to the grass. Nothing is better then grilled cheese on the front lawn.

Me...my little man... and my growing girl

best buds always wrestling

hahahahhaa... daddy posing cause Grey was taking a picture with Geoff's phone... I had to capture it too

Potty trained

We have officially been potty training now since Wednesday and it is going great!!! I am so proud of Greyson. I had a discussion with his teacher on Tuesday that I was getting concerned because she will be three at the end of June so we only have a month to get him potty trained so he can move to the three year class room. She suggested I just bring him to class on Wednesday in underwear and we will go for it. So that is what we did. Now it isn't like I just decided to tell him no more diaper...on to underwear. We have been talking about it forever and he has been using the potty randomly at home. Its just it was time to Go For It!!!! So we are on day 6 and he is awesome at the pee pee thing. He always goes in the potty. He had one accident on Saturday, but thats it. We are working on the poopy thing...thats a bit harder. We are sure to have pull up with us at all times, cause he is afraid to do it on the potty. We will keep trying!!!

It makes me so proud and yet so sad that this little man has grown up all of a sudden. He's talking a bunch, going in the potty, eating artichoke, dinner sausage and garlic and herb hummus with us yesterday.... I mean where is my mac n cheese guy!!! I am so lucky that he is adaptable to so many new things. Lets see how he does when his sister arrives =)

New Registry...already out with the old, in with the new

So I was checking facebook the other day, surprise, and a friend mentioned something about Diapers.com I always forget about that website. Why have I never order anything off of it in three years? Well, I think I am going to start. First of all it is free shipping on any order over $49...thats not hard, and things arrive in 1 to 2 days. So I went on the site and behold... baby registry. I had decided I was going to register on amazon.com, but then looked into it further and realized everything comes from a different website, meaning each return policy is different...LAME. Also, friends and family would have to pay shipping...so I switched. Diapers.com has all the major items I wanted anyway so I'm sold. No Babies r Us this time... just Diapers.com and of course, Bassinets and Blueberries. Let the shopping begin haha.

Greyson and Emerson's room

It's that time again... re-doing a room. I am super excited about this adventure. Ever since we moved Greyson into a twin bed I have held off on buying him new bedding...this was because I knew we would be prego soon and I would want Greyson and Emerson's bedding to coordinate. So now that we have total confirmation that this little bun in my oven is a girl...let the fun begin. So I have never been a pink girl, so it should be no surprise that I am not doing pink for Emme. Instead, I am focusing more on aqua and grey, with a touch of pale pink. But very floral and damask for her and polka dots for Grey. Below you will actually see the shower curtain...yes, shower curtain I purchased for the fabric. It is 72"x72" so that is a whole lot of fabric. I love that it was primarily aqua, but undeniably girly. The flowers have the lightest pink in them. So this was my jumping point.

Greyson's room already has a good amount of aqua through out it... a picture, bins, tins, and lampshades so I figured it was silly to get rid of all of that, so instead it is being adapted. Below is the start to Grey's bed. He has grey sheets, aqua comforter and a really fun damask pillow...that I am using to tie in what I hope to get for Emme.

While we were at the Spectrum today I went into Anthropologie and fell in love. I could buy that whole store if I had someones black AMEX card! I saw this bathrug...haha, what is it about all this bath stuff being so cute. Anyway... you would never know its a bath rug, so I want it for in front of the changing table. It comes in the most perfect dark grey... can you register at Anthropologie?!?

I also have a chair from Ikea that desperately needs a new slipcover and I really want this one.

I LOVE it!!!! I think it would be such a fun addition to the room... problem, its $200. So I may have to attempt a slipcover myself, but I doubt I can find such a great fabric.
So this is just the start to all the fun...that and I have started a registry on amazon.com
did you know they do a baby registry? They have everything... especially the stroller we want. Except they don't have the glide board that we are going to purchase to add to the stroller so that big brother Grey has a place to stand. We'll have to grab that ourselves. I am getting very excited!!!! More to come...

Mother's Day 2010

Today was a really fun day. We started out by making cinnamon rolls at home: always a yummy treat. Then we headed to the Shwam's house for breakfast and some play time. Mike made a yummy spread for breakfast burritos. It was so good. We all contributed in someway... I brought the usual, quacamole. Then we opened gifts and then headed to the park. It wasn't the best weather outside, but we put on our jackets and let the kids run around. Once us mommies were freezing enough, we parted ways.

Geoff, Greyson and I then headed to the Irvine Spectrum. We just wanted to be out of the house and enjoy each other. We had a lot of fun. We went on the carousel, then went to Old Navy wear I purchased Emme her first pair of gold sandals.... I had to... so cute!!!

We then ran into our dear friends the Rodgers and Gavin and Greyson jump and ran in circles in Old Navy... they have missed each other. Then we took Grey to go on the choo choo train, which he has always wanted to go on. He sat in the front all by himself. I said to Geoff "is it weird that the train is way over there with our child and we are way over here?" It made me realize how big he is.

After the train we went to an early dinner at Red Robin... ate and then let Grey attempt the classic fair game where you use the big claw to try and grab a toy... what happens... he gets a stinkin toy!!! Who does that happen to? I never won at that game... after that he was happy with his toy and balloon and then asked to go home. He now is officially passed out in bed and we don't forsee him waking up until the morning.

19 week baby bump

Here is the much requested baby bump. Slowly, but surely growing more and more. I kind of forgot to take a 16 week bump, but oh well. I have started to be able to feel Miss Emerson, which has been really fun. I love it! It was driving me nuts that I hadn't felt her yet. I felt Greyson at 17 weeks and they usually say you feel your second and so on much sooner because you know what you are waiting for. But she has started doing her dance and I am enjoying it a bunch. I have another apt with my doc on May 12 and I am hoping to get true confirmation that this little peanut is a girl. I need a better crotch shot... =) She has been so shy in all the others, so we will see.

Taste of Ladera

We attended Taste of Ladera yesterday afternoon with the Shwam fam. We went last year too...maybe a tradition =) It was a beautiful afternoon and the place was packed. We walked over and enjoyed some yummy hot dogs, the non-pregos had a few drinks, the kiddos played and Brody danced.

Me and Geoff

The Bearden Wedding

On April 23, our friends Brent and Amanda got married. Geoff was one of the groomsmen. The last two weddings we have attended he has been a groomsmen which makes for a little bit of a different experience, flying solo isn't as romantic =) He will have his taste coming up with me being in two weddings.
We had a lot of fun, and once again all the boys were in prime form on the dance floor. Amanda looked beautiful and Brent looked so in love. Congrats you two!!!
