Mr. Conductor

As silly as this picture is I think it is just too cute to not post. I don't ever want to forget how sweet he looks in this picture... This was just a fun day, Me and Grey, Geoff was gone... Grey found this conductors hat and bandanna and wanted to wear it. Jane (Geoff's mom) says she thinks she has a very similar picture of Geoff... I want to see it.

Afternoon at the Montage

yesterday afternoon Greyson and I joined the Shwams for a picnic at the Montage. The weather has just been ridiculous so we thought getting closer to the ocean was a good idea. So I grabbed Greys bike, helmet, food for him and a big blanket and drove towards the coast. It being 5:30 on a Saturday afternoon made it difficult to find a parking spot... and once I did my sister had to save me with quarters for my meter. Once that was all settle, we headed across busy PCH... Grey did a great job holding my hand and listening to my instructions... which was nice considering all day he had NOT been listening to me. So we made it to the Montage grounds and let the kids hop on their bikes and ride all the way down the hill to the grassy area... it is quite a trec. But we made it and set up shop on the big grassy area... That is when I realized I forgot Greys dinner in the car!!!! I mean, really??? Where is my head sometimes?? Well, I wasn't about to walk back to the car so he had French Fries for dinner.... don't tell you me you haven't ever had to do this before? He could have cared less about food at the time anyway... as you can see in the below pictures... he just wanted to play with Maddy and Uncle Mike and ride his bike. Thanks Uncle Mike for standing in for Daddy when it came to the bike riding and the ball chasing.

Brody drinking from a straw... such a big boy now!!!

Wheres Maddy??? Such a girl... she only wanted to ride her bike a little, Grey on the other hand, could have riden his bike all night

Getting a picture with my boy... identical hair... FRIZZY from the humidity yesterday

The Shwams..
Thanks guys for including Grey and I in your afternoon fun!!!

Owls everywhere

This is the last picture I wanted to paint for Grey's room... I had seen it on Posh Tots and fell in love!!! I wasn't about to pay someone else for it so i replicated it changing the colors ever so slightly so that it matched Greyson's room. Its ok I copied... right... I am not selling them, its just for me and Grey to enjoy=)??? Anyway, I am really happy how it turned out.

yes, yes its an obsession

So I have redone Greys room again... I just didn't love it. I had been wanting to switch it to Owls for a while... I had seen a picture I loved on Posh tots...I am going to recreate it myself cause I am not about to pay money for something so simple... I will take a picture when I am done. Anyway... I didn't need to change any of his linens cause the colors all work, I just changed some art that already existed and took away some red articles. I then made some Owl pillows I had seen on Etsy, that again, I wasn't about to pay for. Here are some pics:

The above are 10"x10" canvases that I painted and then adhered three photos I love of Grey playing in the water in Hawaii....His boardshorts have the aqua blue and orange on them so they look great in his room.

Owl number one... all done by hand cause the sewing machine that Geoff's mom, sister and I all share is at his sisters =)

Owl number 2 the orange fabric is super soft minky dot

I finally put photos in some white frames I have had for almost two years... Grey picked out the photos himself

Fun with just us

Last weekend we needed to get out of the house, but really didn't want to spend any money. so daddy came up with the idea to go down to the harbor and just walk around. We brought along Greys skooter and just let him lead the way, Chopper came too. Grey was definately daddy's boy while we were down there... hence no pic with mommy... he refused. He has really become very opinionated lately...

On Sunday we went to Disneyland... we had so much fun... as usual.

Grey and Daddy ventured into a gift store while Mommy was dealing with a work issue on the phone... out came Grey and Daddy with a sword. Below is us at home playing sword fight...

He's goin to get me... great face of mine that Geoff captured =)

paci box update

This is the best idea to have taken place in our house for awhile.... we are ending day two of paci only at nap and nigh night and we have had no break downs and no requests for the paci... it has almost completely been forgotten about. I am still in shock on how well this has gone... good question Jen on how do we get rid of it in the end... I haven't thought about that ha ha. I am hoping we continue the way we are going and he just doesn't need/want it anymore. We will see.
As for now, I am super proud of my little guy and super thankful he has made this so easy so far. I will keep everyone updated...

Paci Box

Its official, we are trying to get rid of the paci... partly brought on cause Celina and my friend Jen are doing it... why not just go for it with them. So we all are doing it a little different and this is what I came up with. It's the PACI BOX!!! Greyson and I decorated a special box this morning for his Paci's to "sleep" in. So every morning we will put his paci "to bed" in the box, and we will wake it up before naptime... then it goes back to sleep after Grey wakes up...and again we repeat that at nigh night time. As you can see below, he did a great job decorating the box... so far we have had only one "paci" issue... its almost naptime so we will be waking the paci soon.

Fun Fiesta

Last week end was the Fiesta in San Clemente. Geoff went to it plenty when he was younger, and we thought it would be fun to go ourselves and let Grey enjoy it. I am so glad we did... there was a bunch of vendors lining Del Mar street... food, drinks, jewelry, donations and a parking lot full of bounce houses!!!! To bounce in them was a only $1, so it was $3 well spent. We also had lunch on the patio at El Ranchito and got to listen to the live music, it was such a fun day.

Happy Boy in Green

Grey and I played hooky yesterday, cause his two year check-up apt. time was only available smack in the middle of the day. So we decided to join Daddy down at 54th street for his free donuts and coffee he does for his work. Grey just loved playing in the sand as usual. I just wanted to capture how cute he looked in his new shirt from my work.... got to love Charlie Rocket.

Disneyland with our BFFs

Yesterday, my good friend Jen and I attempted Disneyland by ourselves... just the two mommies, two toddlers and a baby. We did great and had such a fun time. The boys were such good listeners. I thought getting on the tram by myself with just Grey was a chore, but Jen and I mastering it with a double stroller and my jogger, plus all the kids was actually pretty impressive. We decided to spend the day in California Adventure which was nice cause Grey and I had just been to Dland last Friday. I am loving having these passes... worth every penny. So we went on the Monsters Inc. ride first and Jen got to witness Grey hiding into the side of my body the entire ride... but saying he had fun when we got off. He is such a silly boy. We then had a yummy lunch, I think the mommies were hungrier then the toddlers. We then ventured to Bugs Life land... thats my name for it. I don't know the ins and outs yet of Dland=) We rode the caterpillar ride and then Jen talked me into to letting Grey get wet... oh, I mean drenched!!!!

Mommy and Grey

Boys eating lunch

my little monkey

Gavins crazy man face

Now, let the fun begin... this was hilarious. Next time I will bring a change of clothes and it will be even better. These two boys were in absolute heaven. Grey started out by being a little timid, I thought... Yes, he won't get that wet.... oh was I wrong. He wanted to do exactly what Gav was doing... and that meant standing in the line of fire.

Probably not a good idea to be staring right into where the water comes out
Happy boy, still kind of dry

Greyson dry... Gavin socking wet. Poor Gavs shorts kept falling down from the weight of the water

Two peas in a pod

Yay!!!! Wet...

These boys are such good friends and it is so much fun to sit back and witness it. We can't wait for many more days at Dland with the Rodgers.
