Fourth of July

It was a fun day yesterday celebrating the fourth of July. We headed to Ladera Ranch around noon, when the sun finally decided to make an appearance. We made sandwiches at the Shwam's and let the kids play for a bit before we headed to the pool. It was the Shwams, us and the Rodgers (minus daddy for the first part of the day.) We played at the pool with the other hundred people who were there....we were saying it was Spring Break 2010...parents having way more fun then their kids. One group had their margarita machine all set-up, it was hilarious. We let the kids swim for about 2 hours and then set out on an adventure that we hoped would end in naps. The Shwams went home and the kiddos took good naps. The Rodgers kids and Greyson were loaded up in their strollers and we taken on a LONG walk until their eyes closed and they went to dream land. Unfortunately, Gavin didn't want to visit that land... he wanted to stay in the present =) Greyson, thankfully, did venture to dreamland. So we got a little bit of a break before the rest of the night.

Around 6 we all headed to the Bricks house for play time and a yummy bbq. Kelly and Jason were great hosts as usual. Kelly put together the best little gift buckets for the kids full of festive items. The light twirlers were the hit. Thank you Brick's for the fun night.

Greyson loving the scooter, didn't care it was a pink one and helmet...he wouldn't stop riding hence the reason for him not being in the below picture

Around 8:45 we headed over to the park where the fireworks were being displayed...us and about 20,000 people were ready for the show. Greyson loved the fireworks this year! Him and daddy had fun calling out all the colors in the sky. We can't wait til next year when Emme gets to experience them too... this year she was rocking out from the inside!
